Yummy, yummy in my tummy!

Chicken Pot Pie. You all know what it is, and I am sure that you have all eaten one or two servings, as have I. I have eaten it in many different restaurants and a few home made versions, but I didn't realize what I was missing out on until last night. One of our friends who lives up the street (and a reader of this blog) helped us out by making dinner for us last night. She brought down a chicken pot pie that was light years better than any chicken pot pie that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I don't know what her secret was (maybe if we all ask really nicely she will share with us), but we could not get enough. Then I come to find out that she did not make just one, but two; one for us and one for her husband. I was seriously tempted to go have Jenn distract him with Zack so that we could take the other one, but alas I was told no, he needs to eat too. So after the pot pie was gone I moved onto the rolls that she made for us and they were light as clouds with a rich buttery flavor that just melted on your tongue. There were lots of rolls, but some how they all disappeared just as fast as the pot pie did. Feeling fat and happy I went outside with everybody to sit and relax when it was revealed to me that she did not stop at the pot pie and rolls. She made brownies as well! When Jenn sprung this revelation on me I was holding little Zack who was wide awake taking in the entire world. I just about put him down on the table to partake in the dessert but then that darn fatherly instinct kicked in and I held him until I could pass him off to his mother and indulge in the rich, thick, gooey goodness of the brownie. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait. That dinner was so filling and so good that I would eat it every night of the week. I have chosen not to reveal the cook as I would hope that she steps forward and takes credit on her own for the fabulous meal that she made for us, and I also don't want to embarrass her. From the bottom of my stomach, er, heart, thank you so much for that great dinner, it really hit the spot!

Happy first full week to young Zackary! Today at 1:53 pm he will be exactly 1 week old! I cannot believe that we have had one week with our son. The time is flying by as he spoils us by sleeping very well at night. In fact, night before last, he slept through the entire night. We put him down at about 11:00 and he slept until 5:30 when I got up to go to the gym. Jenn and I could not believe it, like a dream came true.

You should be careful who you tell that to (him sleeping through the night), I have friends who have 6 month olds who still won't sleep more than 4 hours!! But from the time of Zackary's introduction to (and even leading up to it) this world, he's shown he is a cut above most other babies. I must leave room in there for a few children on my own! :-) Thanks for the posts they are so sweet it's great to hear about how everything is going!
Love Rebecca (and Peter)
